Steps:

  1. Ground the the battery terminal indicated by the screwdriver.
  2. Ground the dock connector
    3. Step image
  3. Touch battery terminal 3 and the dock connector metal with the metal part of a screw driver.
  4. This should short the battery and restore the iPod.

  5. Reattach the screen.
  6. Plug the iPod into a wall charger.
  7. Turn on the device.
  8. The Apple sign should appear.
