Electrolux ELFW7537AW washing machine teardown
ID: 239692
Description: This guide will guide you through tearing down...
Steps:
- Please! Do not skip, if you do this will probably not end well!
- Make sure there’s no clothes in the machine*
- Turn off all water
- Drain the machine with diagnostic mode 11
- Unplug the machine
- *If your clothes are trapped because you can’t open the door, do step 1 then skip to step 3-F.2 then go back to the start of step 3.
- With a #2 Robertson remove the two screws at the top on the back
- Unscrew the #2 robertsons with rubber washers
- Remove soap drawer, push on the “push” button and pull the drawer out
- Remove the 2 #2 Robertsons and the #1 Philips
- Next remove two #2 cross from the bottom left and another two from the bottom right on the front.
- You’re going to have to feel around for them they’re in pairs close together.
- Can’t take a picture of them, sorry, you’ll get over it.
- Try opening the washer drum door.
- If you can’t and you are sure that it is safe to do so, you can press the release leaver on the door lock.
- Optional step, I would recommend it if you’re going to do troubleshooting.
- This step should be done with a friend!
- Remove the 9 #2 Robertsons. Then slowly close the door halfway, one person pulls the chromed plastic ring out. The second person holds the glass as it will become unseated and could fall if it is not held.
- Pull back the rubber at the top of the drum gasket, it will reveal a spring pull on it then peal it out of its groove and pull the rubber off the metal lip on the front panel.
- To reinstall, once the rubber is over the metal lip, put the metal ring at the 6o clock position on the drum then place it expanding from that first bottom middle position up to the top of the circle.
- Lift up a bit pull forward then pull up completely on the front panel.
- This movement in two steps is to dislodge the front control panel trim from the inside of the soap drawer then getting the front off it’s four pins with 8 shaped holes in the front panel that hold it on.
- Disconnect the two cables connected to the front panel.
- The numbering on this step is mostly for reassembly but the screws are again #2 Robertsons.
- I’m your case you should find a motor behind this panel but, this machine is in repair.
- Please be careful with this step, and do other troubleshooting steps first since this board manages high voltage and has capacitors that could cause severe harm or death so give them the space to the forbidden trash cans!
- To dismount the box containing the control board there’s one #2 square screw holding it to the side of the machine
- Here are the locations of the clips keeping the box closed
- To remove the board from it’s housing you will need to disconnect the cables from the board that go through the case then unclip the board from the housing and disconnect the rest of the wires
- Thank me later, I took photos of how all the connectors go
