Steps:

1. Lay the tablet down on a flat surface with the screen facing up, and the external camera facing upwards and closest to you.

2. Insert the plastic opening tool in the space between the screen and the back cover above the volume buttons.
3. Slide the plastic opening tool gently along the sides.
4. If a small gap is not created between the screen and the back cover, pry gently upward at each of these latching points.

5. Place the spudger in an open space to keep the back case from shutting while you continue to slide the opening tool.

6. Remove the back cover with your hands once all points have been unlatched. It should separate completely from the screen that contains the battery and chip components.

7. Shove the Spudger below the battery pack to remove any tape or adhesive residue.

8. Lift the battery up with your hands to ensure complete detachment from the screen.

9. Identify the red wire attached to the node labeled "B+" and the black wire attached to the node labeled "B-"

10. Press the heated soldering iron down on the "B+" node while simultaneously tugging on the red wire.

11. Remove the red wire from the node labeled "B+"

12. Using the same process as the red wire, detach the black wire from the node labeled "B-".

13. The battery should now be separated from both the screen and circuit board
