Steps:

1. Remove the outside cover of the Nerf gun (cover and charging slide, 12 Phillips #0 screws).

2. From the base, lift the action and the trigger.

3. Lift the Nerf dart cylinder and the firing mechanism (spring chamber).

4. Unscrew screws (2) from the cylinder rotator mechanism.

5. Remove the air plunger and the spring from inside the chamber.

6. Turn the spring counter-clockwise to free the spring. Be careful at the beginning and the end of the process.

7. Replace the spring.
8. The spring will be greasy. Don’t be alarmed. Be careful at the beginning and the end of the process because it is like getting a key ring on at the notches, particularly at the top of the chamber.
9. Tip: If dry, use a little vegetable oil on the O-ring before putting it back.

10. Return the plunger to the spring chamber.

11. Screw the cover back onto the cylinder rotator.

12. Place the spring chamber and the Nerf bullet cylinder back into the base.

13. Screw the trigger and the action back in. Swing the gray gun charging slide out when putting the action back in.

14. Secure the cover and the charging slide with the 12 screws.
