Dismountable Hand Blender
ID: 40720
Description: This guide shows the challenges that stop us...
Steps:
- Finding and fixing the problem is a cinch!
- Disassembling the mixer is very destructive!
- This appliance is a clear example of planned obsolescence since a worn (carbon) brush makes it fit for the trash.
- If the fault is in the electronic module, clever cutting can make an acceptable repair possible as shown in this ElectroMax video.
- The speed control knob is easy to disassemble by inserting a knife blade under the graduated circle and prying it up.
- There are three obstacles to the removal of the motor and electronics module from this mixer:
- The entire motor block enclosure is firmly secured with adhesive.
- This motor bearing fastener acts as a circular mount.
- This plunger system fastener is a second circular mount.
- I do not see a way around any of these three issues without a certain amount of "destruction".
- One of the two leads has broken off. Possibly made fragile by improper assembly?
- Correctly resoldering the lead lets the motor operate normally again.
