Steps:
- Using the plastic opening tool, carefully insert the opening tool on all four corners of the Kindle Fire and lift up until you hear a slight popping noise
- Using the plastic opening tool, start from one corner and go around the Kindle Fire using the tool in a down and up motion to continue to pop off the backing.
- The Kindle Fire could possibly have tape on the inside, so take caution and look before attempting to remove the back.
- After you lift all four corners and you check for tape, it is safe to proceed.
- Once all the plastic clips holding the screen to the plastic back of the Kindle Fire are separated, the back should be safe to lift up completely.
- Locate the 4 Phillips #00 screws and use the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew them.
- If your device has copper tape attached to the battery, carefully peel it off the battery.
- Locate the antenna cable connector which is easier to find if you look for the gold tipped black wire that surrounds the battery.
- Lift and pull up the power connector cable that surrounds the battery
- Locate the 1 T5 Torx screw and unscrew it.
- Use the plastic opening tool to remove the plastic piece that connects the wires to the motherboard
- Lift the battery out of the device with your finger or the plastic opening tool.
- Look at the speakers on the left and right side of your device. Unscrew the three 2 mm screws that hold the speakers down with the Phillips #000 screwdriver.
- Locate the black and white wires that are connected to the plastic black piece.
- Use the tweezers to lift up the wires.
- Look at the motherboard and lift up the three copper flaps with your plastic opening tool
- Locate the purple flap in the middle of the motherboard.
- Lift up the little black flap to disconnect the purple flap.
- Locate the red and black wire that is connected to the plastic black piece.
- Use the tweezers to lift up the wires.
- Locate the five 3 mm screws and unscrew them with the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- Remember to unscrew the 3 mm screw underneath the cooper flap.
- In order to remove the black and red wire, you must first remove the motherboard.
- Now it is safe to remove the left and right side speakers out.
