Steps:

1. Slide the battery locking tab on the underside of the ThinkPad T500 to the right.

2. With the tab in the "unlock" position, gently slide the battery away from the body of the ThinkPad.

3. The battery is out! You can now replace it with the correct replacement battery and be on your way!
