Steps:

1. Place the Nikon Coolpix upside down so that the on/off button is facing the floor and the camera information is facing you

2. Slide the battery cover away from the camera to reveal the location of the battery

3. Remove the dead battery and insert the new battery in its place
4. Close the battery cover by sliding it back into place
