Olympus TG-820 iHS LCD Screen Replacement

Description: Is your LCD screen unresponsive or not working...

Steps:

1. Orient camera to look directly at battery compartment side as shown.

2. Locate the two latches on the battery compartment.
3. First, move the "lock" switch left to reveal red indicator.
4. Next, move the "cover latch" switch downward to reveal red indicator.
5. You have to move the switches in that order for the compartment to unlatch.

6. Allow the battery compartment latch to completely open.
7. Insert battery with the writing face up.
8. The bigger slot is for the battery. The smaller slot is for the memory card.
9. Battery not shown.

10. Orient the camera so you are looking at the bottom.
11. Remove the three 3.85mm Phillips #00 screws from the bottom of the camera.

12. Orient the camera so you are looking at the side plate.
13. Remove the two 3.15mm Phillips #00 screws from the side plate of the camera.

14. Orient the camera so you are looking at the front plate.
15. Remove the two 3.8mm with the Phillips H1.5 from the front plate.
16. Remove the "Olympus" plate.

17. Remove face plate.

18. Locate three small black screws inside of the battery compartment.
19. Remove the 3.85mm Phillips #00 screw on the far left side.
20. Remove the two 5mm Phillips #00 screws on the right side

21. Orient the camera to be look at the top.
22. Remove the 5.4mm Phillips #00 screw on the top left side.
23. Remove the 7.4mm Phillips #00 screw next to the "ON/OFF" label.
24. Pry off top button plate with black nylon spudger.

25. Rotate to bottom of camera and locate bottom latch.
26. Wedge black nylon spudger in between bottom latch and camera base to release LCD Screen from camera.
27. Push firmly apart.
28. Some buttons might fall out.

29. Orient the camera to the LCD screen side that is now wedged open.
30. Locate the white ribbon cable and pull out from motherboard.
31. Locate the brown ribbon cable and pull out from motherboard.

32. Now that ribbons are detached, orient plate as shown.
33. Remove the four black 2mm Phillips #00 screws.

34. Remove the six silver 3mm Phillips #00 screws.
35. Remove the last top 3.25mm Phillips #00 screw.

36. Using the black nylon spudger, pry out the metal plate.
37. This metal plate is the LCD component needing to be replaced
