Handset Speaker Replacement

Steps:

  1. After removing the BP-T18 battery pack, you will see two 11mm Phillips #0 screws located at the bottom of the phone. Remove both screws with a screwdriver.
  2. Product is made of brittle plastic.

  4. Locate an easy point of access for a spudger, and then slowly insert it into the gap and pry it open.
  5. The opening should become bigger if you exert force at a 30 degrees angle.
  6. Increase the degree of slant until the back cover is completely removed.

  8. After removing the back cover, you will see 3 screws: one 7mm Phillips #0 screw at the top and two 11mm Phillips #0 screws at the bottom.
  9. Use a screwdriver to remove all 3 screws.

  11. After disassembling the handset, you will see a circular component at the top section of the handset. This is your speaker.
  12. Use a screwdriver to remove the three 7mm Phillips #0 screws holding the speaker in place.

  14. Gently pull out the speaker and inspect it.
  15. Determine if the handset speaker is damaged and needs replaced. Replacement requires soldering.
  16. Finish removing a faulty speaker by cutting the two wires connecting it to the circuit board.
