Steps:

  1. Use a Heat Gun to loosen the adhesive under the backing of the device.
  2. Use prying tools to lift up the back of the device to get underneath.
  3. I recommend concentrating on one side of the device at a time and making sure the device is 'almost too hot to touch' before you begin using the prying tools.
  4. You can use either metal or plastic prying tools. Keep in mind, though, that metal ones may scratch the device.

  5. Unlock all of the ribbons that cross or interfere with the battery.
  6. Remove the unlocked ribbons if you can- this will make it easier to work with the battery later.

  7. Use plastic prying tools to peel up the battery. Metal prying tools may puncture the battery and cause more damage. If you MUST use metal prying tools, go slow.
  8. This process may take some time since the battery is held down with adhesive.
  9. It is not really recommended to use the Heat Gun on the battery. However, the heat will loosen the adhesive. Therefore, if you decide to use a Heat Gun, apply the heat to the battery from underneath the device (heat the screen).

  10. Desolder battery and wires from Motherboard HERE!
  11. Once the wires are free, so is the battery. You should be able to replace the battery and its wires in full (as a package deal).
