NuVision TM800A510L Battery Replacement
ID: 87688
Description: The battery is held down with adhesive and is...
Steps:
- Use a Heat Gun to loosen the adhesive under the backing of the device.
- Use prying tools to lift up the back of the device to get underneath.
- I recommend concentrating on one side of the device at a time and making sure the device is 'almost too hot to touch' before you begin using the prying tools.
- You can use either metal or plastic prying tools. Keep in mind, though, that metal ones may scratch the device.
- Unlock all of the ribbons that cross or interfere with the battery.
- Remove the unlocked ribbons if you can- this will make it easier to work with the battery later.
- Use plastic prying tools to peel up the battery. Metal prying tools may puncture the battery and cause more damage. If you MUST use metal prying tools, go slow.
- This process may take some time since the battery is held down with adhesive.
- It is not really recommended to use the Heat Gun on the battery. However, the heat will loosen the adhesive. Therefore, if you decide to use a Heat Gun, apply the heat to the battery from underneath the device (heat the screen).
- Desolder battery and wires from Motherboard HERE!
- Once the wires are free, so is the battery. You should be able to replace the battery and its wires in full (as a package deal).
