Steps:

  1. Flip the laptop so the battery is facing upwards.
  2. Push the battery release tabs toward the center of the device.
  3. Remove the battery.

  4. Remove the two countersunk keyboard screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  5. Lift up the keyboard using your fingers or a plastic opening tool.
  6. Potential for device damage: Do not tear the ribbon cable hidden behind the keyboard.
  7. Disconnect the cable by sliding the connector ears outward.

  8. Remove the seven Phillips #00 screws that hold the metal component to the frame
  9. Detach the two ribbon cables on either side of the silver panel
  10. Be careful to not tear the ribbon cables hidden behind the panel
  11. Gently lift the silver panel from the laptop using the plastic opening tool
  12. Set the laptop aside
  13. depending on your model, there could still be some hidden screws on the bottom of the case of the mini that hold the palm-rest in place

  14. Flip the silver panel over
  15. Remove the four screws that connect the buttons to the panel using the Phillips #00 Screwdriver

  17. Remove the buttons from the panel
  18. Release the mouse button by flipping the center connector tab up
