Steps:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom right of the camera.

2. While holding the camera with the lens facing toward you, slide the lock button to the right and pull the battery door towards you. The battery door should pop open.
3. If the door does not pop open, gently lift the door using your finger.

4. Remove the dead batteries. The easiest way to do this is by turning the camera right side up and gently tapping the lens side of the camera against your hand until they fall out. If this does not work, you can simply pull them out.

5. Insert fresh AA batteries into the compartment as demonstrated in the picture to the left. The orientation of the batteries is important to ensure the camera works properly.
6. Close the battery door.
7. Remember to slide the switch back into the lock position.
