Fixing a lid that does not open on a Graef WK 402

Steps:

1. The spring loaded mechanism that opened the lid no longer worked. To fix this, first remove the metal cover. Use a flat head screwdriver or a narrow piece of plastic (a spudger) to get between the sealing ring and cover and gently pry it loose.
2. There are six clips that need to be undone. The marked part will come loose and will lay loosely in the lid. Then the lever can be inserted in two directions but only one is correct. You will notice this immediately because the sled moves much easier.
3. Attention: I'm not sure if the photo was taken with the sled in the right direction.

4. To repair the lid, the following instructions to remove the base are not necessary.
5. To unscrew the bottom you need a 2.3 mm triangular bit and a Phillips driver.

6. To take off the handle, first remove its cover. Take a narrow object, a flat head screwdriver or a spudger, and work up the side of the handle. There are four snaps that will release as the screwdriver works its way up. After completing this you can turn the handle cover part upwards and away.
7. Then loosen the two screws at the top end and loosen the two screws from the inside.

8. To loosen internal screws it is best to use a long screwdriver and start through the spout.
