Steps:

1. Remove the black back cover with a blue iFixit opening tools by working it around the perimeter of the case.

2. Identify the microphone first; it is a small component. The location is adjacent to the rear camera.
3. Remove the microphone by using the angled tweezers tool, starting at the base of the component to free it from the motherboard.

4. The ambient light sensor is attached to the microphone. They come out together in one piece.
5. Remove the entirety of the microphone with the tweezers.
