Steps:
- Trace the knife outline onto wood.
- Cut out the outline of the wood.
- Cut the height of the wood to the correct measurement.
- Sand the wood so that it is smooth and free of hard edges.
- For the best result, sand in the direction of the grain as much as possible.
- Stain and polish the wood so that it is reflects the other side of the knife.
- Apply another coat after the first coat dries if you want a darker stain.
- If you get the Stain and Polish on your skin, your skin might be stained for a few days. In this case, make sure you wash thoroughly; Stain and Polish is only toxic if it is ingested.
- Drill four small holes that will go over the extruded parts of the knife.
- You can accurately mark the positions of the holes by coloring the screw heads with sharpie then stamping them into the wood.
- Glue the wood to the knife and clean any hard edges or excess glue that comes from this step.
