Untracked Bifold Door Pin Replacement
ID: 130557
Description: A bifold door that has come off its tracking...
Steps:
- Stand on a small ladder or step stool to get a better view of the top of the door.
- Locate the pin at the top of the door.
- Remove the current pin with pliers.
- Clean the top of the door using cleaning spray and a rag. This will help remove any dust or wood fragments left behind.
- I used Meyer's spray, but any household cleaning spray will work just fine.
- Replace old pin with new pin using the pliers to place into the hole at the top of the door.
- You can purchase a new pin at either Ace Hardware or Home Depot.
- Push the pin all the way in by using a hammer.
- No excessive force is needed. Gently tap the pin with the hammer until it is secured.
- Line up the newly placed pin with the door's tracking.
- Push the door down slightly and then lift it back up to align it with the track.
- Secure the pin within the tracking using the pliers.
- When completed, the bifold doors should close and be positioned within the tracking.
