Steps:

1. Turn the DVD player upside down.
2. Slide the lock switch to the side.
3. Slide the battery pack toward the lock switch and off of the back case.

4. Remove the following twelve screws:
5. Ten 7 mm Phillips #00 screws
6. Two 8 mm Phillips #00 screws

7. Use your fingers to pull the back case away from the body of the DVD player.
8. Remove the back case.

9. Use your fingers to pull off the plastic sheet.

10. Remove the following screw:
11. One 2 mm Phillips #00 screw
12. Detach the gray wire.

13. Disconnect the ribbon cable by pulling it straight out of the connector.

14. Remove the following five screws:
15. Three 4 mm Phillips #00 screws
16. Two 2 mm Phillips #00 screws

17. Remove three rubber stoppers.

18. Remove the following screws:
19. Two 4mm Phillips #00 screws

20. Use your fingers to pry the motherboard away from the upper case so you can access the DVD drive wires.

21. Flip the DVD player over to access the drive wires.
22. Pull the bundled cable away from the connector in the same direction the individual wires are running.

23. Remove all of the DVD drive components from the case.
