Steps:

  1. Working on your device while it is turned on may result in electric shock. Make sure to shut down and unplug your device before you begin.
  2. Turn device over so the bottom panel is facing you.

  4. Remove the eight 4mm Phillips #0 screws.
  5. Remove the two 6mm Phillips #0 screws.

  7. Insert a plastic opening tool into the crack between the bottom panel and the side of the computer.
  8. Gently pry the panel off the computer by continuously pulling up and on the panel and moving the plastic opening tool around the crack until the panel comes off.
  9. There are several clips holding the cover in place.
  10. Remove the bottom panel and set it aside.

  12. Remove the two 4mm Phillips #0 screws on either side of the battery pack that are securing it in place.

  14. Disconnect the taped white 8-pin cable on the bottom right of the battery pack.
  15. Use thumbnail to pull on the small protruding tabs on either side of the connector.

  17. Carefully lift the entire battery pack out of the laptop.

  19. Remove the black tape covering the screws connecting the trackpad to the laptop.

  21. Remove the three 2.5 mm screws that are securing the trackpad to the laptop using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  23. Lift up the black retaining flap on the connector.
  24. Slide the blue ribbon cable out of the connector.

  26. Lift up the body of the laptop and slide the trackpad out from beneath.
