Description: This article describes how to replace the...
Steps:
- Important safety note: Before you start working on the Bosch Ixo, disconnect the cord from the charger and remove the shrub shear from the unit.
- The housing is held together by 5 screws (see markings). You can use a flathead screwdriver to remove the screws.
- There is a Bosch sticker directly under the start lever. Remove it to open the housing.
- The next step is to carefully pull off the battery LED cover. It is located on the top of the device and consists of two parts (a transparent and a silver-colored plastic part).
- Now you can use the flat-blade screwdriver to start separating the two halves of the case and open the casing.
- The battery is now visible. In the next step, we remove the 1860 battery. To do this, disconnect the two red and blue cables from the battery.
- The battery is connected to the board via solder lugs and a cable lug connector. These can be easily pulled off with some needle-nose pliers. The solder tags remain on the battery.
- On the bottom side of the battery, a sensor is attached to the battery with aluminum tape. This is probably a temperature sensor. Simply pull it off and put it aside.
- Now replace the battery with a new battery of the same type. This model is a Samsung INR18650-15Q battery with U-shaped solder tag
- Solder the new battery with the solder tags and reinsert it as described in the pictures. Finally, attach the temperature sensor to the new battery with adhesive tape.
- Press the switch of the device to check if the battery is correctly connected to the device. If power is flowing, proceed to the next step.
- The battery is now replaced and the case can be reassembled.
- Follow the instructions described in step 1 of the manual, but in reverse order.
- Congratulations, your Bosch Isio has now a new battery.
