Steps:

  1. Important safety note: Before you start working on the Bosch Ixo, disconnect the cord from the charger and remove the shrub shear from the unit.
  2. The housing is held together by 5 screws (see markings). You can use a flathead screwdriver to remove the screws.
  3. There is a Bosch sticker directly under the start lever. Remove it to open the housing.
  4. The next step is to carefully pull off the battery LED cover. It is located on the top of the device and consists of two parts (a transparent and a silver-colored plastic part).

  7. The battery is now visible. In the next step, we remove the 1860 battery. To do this, disconnect the two red and blue cables from the battery.
  8. The battery is connected to the board via solder lugs and a cable lug connector. These can be easily pulled off with some needle-nose pliers. The solder tags remain on the battery.
  9. On the bottom side of the battery, a sensor is attached to the battery with aluminum tape. This is probably a temperature sensor. Simply pull it off and put it aside.
  10. Now replace the battery with a new battery of the same type. This model is a Samsung INR18650-15Q battery with U-shaped solder tag
  11. Solder the new battery with the solder tags and reinsert it as described in the pictures. Finally, attach the temperature sensor to the new battery with adhesive tape.
  12. Press the switch of the device to check if the battery is correctly connected to the device. If power is flowing, proceed to the next step.
