Description: In this guide, I will be showing you how to...

Steps:

  1. In this step we gather materials.
  2. Some people receive a tiny key for their chin rest when purchasing their violin. It is okay if you do not have one.
  3. Paper clip: If you do not have the key a thick paper clip or a thick bobby pin, as used in this guide, will do the job!
  4. New Chin Rest: If you're replacing your old one with a new one, please have it ready !

  6. Insert your tool's tip inside a hole in your current violin chin rest attached to your violin
  7. Continuously twist your tool in choosen hole towards the left (loosey) or right (tighty)
  8. Please make sure to carefully insert your tool's tip and not scratch your instrument by sticking it through the holes too far.

  10. Great Job! If you notice that both the left and right side of your chin rest is screwing off, as shown in the first picture, you're on the right track!
  11. It is better to unscrew both sides equally with the chosen tool. The second picture is what you don't want to be doing so that your chin rest does not fall apart when being removed.

  13. If your chin rest does fall apart do not be alarmed!
  14. Just remove all the parts from the chinrest on your violin and reattach them as shown.
  15. Afterward, simply screw them back in using your chosen tool as shown.
