ID: 165628
Description: This is a guide on how to both replace and/or...
Steps:
- To start, you should use a clean towel or cloth to wipe down the reel of any dust and dirt.
- This will help prevent any potential dust/dirt/debris from getting in the internals of the handle.
- Next, loosen the cap of the reel handle by turning it counterclockwise, and once it has become loose enough gently pull the cap out and put it to the side.
- Place the cap on a flat surface facing up so it does not roll away and potentially gather debris on the greased/lubricated gears.
- Next, firmly grab hold of the handle and pull the handle straight back to remove it from the body of the reel.
- Now, you can either bring a new/replacement handle to the reel or switch the handle to the opposite side of the reel body.
- Then, gently insert the handle back in until it is fully in the body of the reel.
- Now grab the handle cap insert it back into the reel on the opposite side of the handle, and turn it clockwise until it is firmly locked in.
- Be sure not to try and forcefully turn the cap after it stops moving or you may risk jamming/breaking the cap or gears.
- Lastly, crank the handle several times to ensure that it is moving and turning smoothly.
