Steps:

1. Plug in your machine.
2. Empty the capsule container and drip tray, then place them back into the machine.
3. Fill the water tank with 1 packet of Nespresso descaling solution and 17 ounces of water.

4. Close the machine head and lock the lever to the left to turn the machine on.
5. Wait until the light is steady, (approx. 30 seconds).

6. Turn the lever to the left to lock the lever, then turn the lever back to the front to unlock the lever.
7. Press and hold the button until the light turns off and then starts blinking orange and quickly again (approx. 7 seconds). Steps 5 and 6 must be completed within 45 seconds.
8. Lock the lever. The orange light should be blinking indicating that you have entered descaling mode. If not, start over from Step 3.

9. Place a large container (minimum 34oz) underneath the spout.
10. Press and release the button once to begin descaling.
11. The light will blink throughout the process.
12. Once the solution has finished running through, machine should be silent.
13. Discard the solution.

14. Empty the drip tray and capsule container. Rinse the water tank and clean it thoroughly. Refill the tank to the top with fresh water and place it back on the machine.
15. Press and release the button to begin the rinsing phase. When the machine stops making noise, discard the water from the container.
16. The machine will stop automatically and the cup button should turn off on its own.

17. Refill the water tank and place it back onto the machine.
18. Empty and rinse the capsule container and drip tray and reinsert it into the machine.
19. Let the machine rest for 10 minutes.
20. The machine is now ready for use.
