Steps:

  1. Remove the 10 marked screws using a Phillips #1 screwdriver from the back plate.
  2. M2.5 × 7 mm, Phillips-head (6) (RED circles)
  3. M2.5 × 4 mm, Phillips-head (4) (ORANGE circles)
  4. The red circles show the longer screws, and the orange circles show the shorter screws.
  5. Keep your screws organized. They’re different lengths and must go back in their original positions.

  7. After removing all ten screws, use a plastic spudger to separate the bottom cover from the laptop.
  8. Gently slide the tool around the edges until the clips begin to release.
  9. Once all the clips are loose, lift the cover off and set it aside.
  10. The Wi-Fi card is located near one corner of the motherboard. It has two antenna wires connected to it (one black and one gray).

  12. Disconnect the black wire with your fingers or small ESD-safe tweezers.
  13. Lift the connector straight up to avoid bending it.

  15. Disconnect the gray wire with your fingers or small ESD-safe tweezers.
  16. The black wire is the main antenna; the gray wire is the auxiliary antenna.

  18. Remove the single 3 mm screw holding Wi-Fi card in place using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

  20. After removing the screw, the Wi-Fi card will pop up at an angle.
  21. Gently pull the card straight out of the slot.
  22. Avoid touching the gold connectors and do not bend the card.

  24. Remove the old Wi-Fi card from the slot.
  25. Insert the new Wi-Fi card at the same angle and slide it into place.
  26. Press the card down and reinstall the screw.
  27. Reattach the black and gray antenna wires by pressing each connector straight down until it clicks.
