Steps:

  1. The Basics:

  4. Micro-USB port
  5. AUX cord IN
  6. Volume wheel
  7. Microphone mute/unmute

  8. Let's start on the right side
  9. Take off the ear cushions.

  10. Remove this small plastic piece.

  11. Remove the piece under the top of the headphone
  12. It should look like this when you are done

  13. Time for the fun part
  14. Take out the three Phillips screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver
  15. The left side is different, in that the Phillips screws are Torx.

  16. CAREFULLY pull apart the two halves
  17. There is still a wire connecting the two halves. Do not pull straight up.

  18. Let's get a closer look at these components.
  19. Be careful to not damage the battery. If the battery is inflated or otherwise damaged, responsibly dispose of the battery.

  20. Repeat steps 2-4 on the left side.
  21. Remove the three T6 Torx Security screws.

  22. Carefully separate the two sides
  23. Again, there is a wire connecting both sides. Be careful to not break the connections.
  24. The wires on the board are fragile. I accidentally pulled one off while reassembling the headset. I guess I have some soldering to do :(
