Steps:
- Sit in the passenger seat and open the glove box.
- Remove all contents to avoid anything falling out during the process.
- Press the release tabs on both sides of the glove box at the same time using both hands to disengage the stoppers.
- The glove box will drop down further, giving access to the filter housing behind it.
- Carefully slide or pull the glove box dampener—the small arm attached to the right side of the glove box—away from the glove box to disconnect it.
- Press the tabs on the sides of the plastic air filter cover to remove it.
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out.
- Be careful—dust and debris may fall out.
- Take note of the airflow direction printed on the old filter to ensure correct installation of the new one.
- Slide the new filter into the housing with the airflow arrows pointing down.
- Make sure it's completely inserted and seated correctly.
- Replace the plastic filter cover.
- Push the glove box back up and snap the side stoppers back in.
- Reconnect the dampener arm on the right side.
- Put your items back in, close it up, and you’re done!
