Steps:

  1. Remove all eleven 5 mm screws on the back panel with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
  2. Insert an iFixit opening tool between the back panel and the chassis. Carefully pry around the edges until the plastic clips release.
  3. Do not force the cover. If you feel significant resistance, double-check for missed screws.
  4. Lift the back panel off the laptop.

  6. Carefully detach the connector from the motherboard.
  7. If the battery is swollen or is need of disposal, please follow this guide.

  9. Remove the 5 mm screws holding the battery in place with a JIS #000 screwdriver.

  11. Lift the battery out of the battery socket.

  13. Remove the two 5 mm JIS #000 screws from the hard drive.

  15. Gently remove the hard drive from the laptop.

  17. Remove the hard drive from the silver casing.
