Description: Over time, batteries naturally degrade and lose...
Steps:
- Remove any accessories such as the detachable keyboard from the device.
- Power the device off by pressing and holding the power button for about three seconds.
- Insert a spudger into the ridge between the screen and the back of the device, creating a small gap.
- Run the spudger along the edge of the screen and around the corners to separate the screen from the rest of the device.
- Be careful not to use more force than necessary with the metal spudger or else the device could potentially be scratched.
- Do not fully lift or pull the screen away from the device once it is loose because the internal connectors are still attached.
- Lift the small tab on the orange connector.
- Separate the screen from the back of the device.
- Remove the two pieces of electrical tape securing the battery.
- Expect some resistance as you pull on the tape to remove it.
- If the tape is not reinserted correctly during reconstruction, the device may not be able to power on again. Keep this risk in mind and try not to damage the tape.
- Remove two 3 mm screws from the metal bracket securing the battery connector using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- Remove the metal bracket.
- Carefully lift the connector and remove the old battery.
