Framework Laptop 16 Expansion Bay Shell Installation

Steps:

1. Align the Expansion Bay Shell with its slot in the laptop.
2. Check that the shell sits evenly with the rail on the outside edges of the slot.
3. Check that the two center rails are threaded between the fans.

4. When installing the shell, keep it level to the laptop so it doesn't buckle on the rails.
5. There should be no gaps between the laptop and the shell when it's installed correctly.

6. While keeping the shell level with the laptop, slide it into its slot.
7. The shell should slide in easily. If you feel any resistance, pull the module out and realign it.
8. You should hear an audible "click" when the shell's clips snap into place.

9. Flip over the laptop and open it.
10. Lift the interposer door by its black pull tab and let it rest upright.

11. Use your Framework Screwdriver to tighten the two captive T5 Torx screws securing the Expansion Bay Shell.

12. Place the interposer over its spot between the Mainboard and the Expansion Bay.

13. Use your Framework Screwdriver to tighten the three captive T5 Torx screws securing the interposer.
14. Close the interposer door.
