Steps:

  1. Power off the laptop.
  2. Unplug the charger and any peripheries before beginning.

  4. Optional: Put on the Anti-Static Wrist Strap and ground it to something made of metal (not to the laptop or anything energized).

  6. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the eleven 6.8 mm-long screws on the lower case.

  8. Insert an opening tool between the chassis and keyboard/palm rest assembly.
  9. Pry around the entire perimeter until the assembly releases.
  10. Slightly lift the assembly, with care not to strain the two connected ribbon cables.

  12. Flip up the locking tab on the left ZIF connection and pull the cable out parallel to the to the socket.
  13. Disconnect the second ribbon cable.
  14. Remove the keyboard and palm rest assembly.

  16. Pull the battery connector directly out of its socket.

  18. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the three 3.6 mm-long screws securing the battery.
  19. Lift the battery up and out.

  21. Unplug the bundled cable connecting the speakers to the motherboard.

  23. Remove the left speaker using the iFixit Opening tool, by prying it from the frame.
  24. Keep the force even while pulling the speaker off of the two pins.
  25. Caution: Be careful around the pins. They can be broken if you are too forceful in a lateral direction.
  26. The speaker itself is held by adhesive. Force will be required when removing the speaker.

  30. Unseat the speaker wire from the frame and remove the speakers.
