Steps:

1. Turn off and unplug the carpet cleaner.
2. Lift the clean water tank straight up to remove it.
3. Press the purple lever and pull the dirty water tank outward until it releases.
4. Fill the clean water tank with water and the recommended detergent, then reinstall it.
5. Empty the dirty water tank, rinse it thoroughly, and make sure it’s completely clean before putting it back in place.

6. Step on the green recline pedal and gently lower the machine onto its back.
7. Lift the purple hose-cover latch, and remove the hose cover.

8. Press both green brush-cover release buttons at the same time, then lift the cover straight up.

9. Insert a spudger into the slot at the back of the belt-access cover and press gently.
10. At the same time, lift the belt-access cover to remove it.
11. Turn the vacuum onto its side.
12. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw located beneath the wheel.

13. Remove the belt on the end of the brush.
14. Take care to not lose the washers from the ends of the brush rolls.
15. Slide the brush rolls out of the metal rods.

16. Reinstall the brush rolls by sliding them fully onto the metal rods, making sure they form a “V” shape.
17. Align the rolls with the belt. Fit the opposite end of the rolls into the belt, then rotate them so they sit properly in the belt grooves.
18. Confirm the washers are properly seated on the ends of the brush rolls.
19. Stretch the belt with your thumb and loop it back around the metal axle.
