Steps:

1. Before beginning, power the device down and disconnect all peripheries.
2. Remove the eight 6 mm-long Phillips screws securing the lower case.
3. Insert an opening pick into the seam between the lower case and chassis.
4. Slide the pick around the entire perimeter of the device until the lower case releases.
5. Remove the lower case.

6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the seven 6 mm-long captive screws securing the battery.
7. These screws are built into the edges of the battery, so they only need to be loosened in order for the battery to be taken out.

8. Remove the battery.
9. If the battery will not come out, you may need to loosen the screws more; refer back to step 2.
