Steps:

1. Remove the device from the mount on the back if necessary.
2. Flip the camera upside down.
3. The word 'Blink' should be at the top.
4. Insert the swivel multi-tool that was included in the Blink Outdoor 4 box into the small notch located inside the silver circle in the center of the device.
5. Twist to the left until you hear a click.

6. Use a spudger to gently pry the back casing off the device.
7. Remove the two AA batteries and place them aside.

8. Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove four screws near the battery compartments.
9. Make sure to keep track of the screws for reassembly.

10. Turn the device on its side shown above.
11. Use a plastic spudger to gently pry off the front cover of the device.
12. This should not require a lot of force.

13. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two small black screws in the upper right corner of the board.
14. Make sure to keep the screws for reassembly.

15. Gently lift the motherboard out of the device by its edges.
16. Do not pull on the board as it's attached to cables from underneath, and could damage the device.
17. Place the motherboard on top of the base of the device, as pictured, to make the next steps easier to access.
18. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove two screws from the white bracket.

19. Remove the black and then the white covering at the bottom.
20. Save the two pieces to reattach when replaced.
21. Use a spudger or a clean fingernail to flip up the black locking flap—this is the unlocked position.
22. Use the widest tool possible to avoid damaging the delicate hinge pins.
23. Gently pull the orange microphone cable out of its motherboard socket using tweezers or your fingers to remove the microphone.
