  1. Using a heat gun, or a hair dryer on high, heat the screen, focusing on the edges around the screen to melt the glue holding the screen on.

  3. After heating, insert picks around the barrier of the screen as wedges to help with pulling the screen off.
  4. The screen will begin to pry off with the picks inserted; however, a suction cup can be used to assist in separating the screen from the casing.

  6. Unclip the black tab covering the motherboard and screen ribbon cables.

  8. Use a spudger or tweezers to pull the ribbon connecting the screen to the device, disconnecting it entirely.

  10. Remove the ribbon cable connecting the charging port board (bottom) and the motherboard (top).

  12. Remove the fourteen 4 mm screws holding down the backplate using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
  13. Use an opening tool to remove the backplate.

  15. Using an opening tool, disconnect the red and blue wires from the motherboard.
  16. Disconnect the headphone jack and side button ribbon cables that are both connected to the motherboard.

  18. Remove the two 2.4 mm screws from the motherboard using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
  19. Remove the motherboard with an opening tool or your finger.
