Steps:

  1. Use a small flathead screwdriver to lift and detach the interior trim panel from the door.
  2. This will provide access to the weather butyl barrier.

  4. Use your small flathead screwdriver and insert it behind the weather butyl barrier and lift the edges of the barrier to get access to the passenger side-view mirrors wiring.

  6. Use electrical disconnect pliers (or a similar tool) to release the locking tabs on the mirror wire connectors.
  7. Once the tabs are lifted, disconnect the connectors by pulling them in separate directions.

  9. Use your 3/8" Drive Ratchet Wrench along with your 3/8" 10mm Deep Socket attachment to remove the three displayed mounting nuts.

  11. Hold the broken passenger side-view assembly from underneath and pull it out and away from the passenger door to remove it.

  13. Grab your new replacement passenger side-view mirror assembly and align its wiring with the large opening and then insert the wiring through to the interior side of the door.
  14. Align the three mounting bolts with their three holes and insert the bolts so the new mirror assembly is in place.

  16. Using your 3/8" Drive Ratchet Wrench and 3/8" 10mm Deep Socket attachment, tighten the three previously removed mounting nuts back onto the new mirror assembly's mounting bolts, then tighten them.

  18. Grab the new mirror assembly's wire connector and connect it to the Van's wire connector.
  19. Once connected, position the wiring behind the butyl barriers opening.

  21. Grab your weather butyl barrier and lift it back up, aligning its edges with the remaining residue of the barrier.

  23. Grab your interior trim panel and insert its lower tab in the opening at the top of the door panel, right below the butyl barrier.
  24. Lift the interior trim panel up and align the white plastic clip with its housing and then press it in until the panel is flush to the door.

  26. Now do a final inspection from the interior and exterior sides of the door to make sure your new passenger side-view mirror for your 2001 Chevy Astro van has been installed coorectly.
