Steps:

  1. Remove the battery.
  2. Loosen the eight 4 mm-long captive Phillips screws securing the lower case.
  3. Insert an opening pick into the seam between the lower case and chassis.
  4. Pry around the entire perimeter of the laptop until the lower case fully releases.
  5. Remove the lower case.
