Steps:

1. Remove battery by pushing the two tabs and pulling the battery outwards slowly but firmly.

2. Slide a spudger under the outer plastic cover of the laptop.
3. Pry the outer plastic cover off of the laptop, one side at a time.
4. Prying the outer plastic cover off may take a significant amount of force.

5. Unscrew all screws attaching the fan to the metal backboard.

6. Turn the laptop over.
7. Slide a spudger in between the outer plastic cover of the keyboard and the main body of the laptop.
8. Pry the top plastic cover off of the laptop.
9. Prying the outer plastic cover off may take a significant amount of force. Be careful!

10. Unscrew the two screws that keep the fan in place.

11. Unplug the fan from the circuit board as shown
12. Carefully peel the tape connecting the fan and pull out the fan from the laptop.
